Hi. Welcome to Spark Joy. Let me give you a bit of background about me and my business. My name is Kim. A few years ago I read an article by Christiane Northrup about the Marie Kondo’s KonMari method. I was intrigued and went in search of the books to find out more. For those who are unfamiliar with the KonMari method, it is a simple process of decluttering and organising your home and life.

I’ve always been a fairly organised person and had a long career in finance and events management where these skills came in very handy.  After reading the books I understood myself better and would call myself an ‘organised hoarder’. Although everything was tidy and I had beautiful things I didn’t use them every day. For example, I had a beautiful cutlery set that I received on my 21st birthday that only came out on special occasions and sat in the cupboard the rest of the time. I decided that the things I love that bring me joy would become a part of my everyday life. I now use that cutlery set every day and it actually looks better as it is getting used and cleaned daily and I believe that energetically it is loved more.

The other thing that I liked about the KonMari method is that everything has a place. What was apparent for me was that when things didn’t have a specific home I might have purchased something because I didn’t realise I already had that thing at home. Now I place things in the most logical spot and know exactly where everything is and what is missing that I need to purchase or replace.

After sorting out my own space friends always commented on how organised and tidy my space was and how they wished their space was like that too. I helped some friends to get organised and knew this is what I wanted to do. I love the KonMari method of sorting by category and the folding techniques that help to keep clothing easy to find and better cared for and loved.

My other love is essential oils. I was searching for some essentials that would support me physically and emotionally as I was working on organising my life. I was introduced to Doterra Oils through a friend and had also heard about them from Leonie Dawson, a woman who support women in business. I’ve found them to be useful and beautiful oils that are sourcing their oils from plants grown in their indigenous environment. Somehow it just feels more connected to the original source and energetically these oils just work for me (and for those who I have shared them with).

Since 2017 I have bought all my skills together – organisation, holistic counselling and doTERRA Wellness Advocate – to help women to have more time and joy in their life. What I have witnessed again and again is that when you help women to become more organised they feel less guilt, shame, sorrow and anxiety. When the home is organised and beautiful essential oil scents fill the air, women instantly feel calmer, more in control, are more emotionally available for those around them and just feel better overall. This is my mission.
